The Srebrenica Massacre!

The Srebrenica massacre, also known as the Srebrenica genocide is called the worst mass killing on European soil since world war two. On July 1995 almost 10 thousand Bosnian Muslims fled away from there home & took shelter in Sovereign Itza which is now known as Eastern Bosnia. The area was declared as UN Safe Zone at that time and protected by six thousand peacekeepers. But the Bosnian army didn't care about the war rules. On July 6th, they started to enter the UN Safe Zone with their weapons. The Bosnian Serb army took hostages some of the peacekeepers and ordered all the Bosnian Muslim fighters to hand over their weapons. Instead of that, they promised to give them safety. When all the Muslims surrender their weapons, the Bosnian army took men aged between 12 & 77 and told everyone that it would be a formal interrogation. But they betrayed & started mass killing on July 11th by the order of their commander named Ratko Mladic. They killed more than 8000 Muslim men & boys. After killing the men, the Bosnian army raped & tortured thousands of Bosnian Muslim women & abducted more than 25000 women and children.25 years passed after that & still, the dead bodies are being identified. In April 2013, Serbian president Tomislav Nikolic officially apologised for the massacre. On November 22,2017, the mastermind behind the massacre, Ratko Mladic was accused of various crimes by UN tribunal & sentenced to life imprisonment.
